REVIEW OF 'HOPE'

MATT JORGENSEN +451 begin with HOPE, new release on Origin. We played “Slinky,” which on first listen is real open ended jam with Jorgensen, hitting on all cylinders, going through the whole drum set, a whirling dervish on a summer holiday! This is a Jorgensen modus operendi, designed to create excitement! With Mark Taylor and Hans Teuber complimenting on reeds, this becomes a glorious melodic open ended assault, the very nature of which you may sense with accuracy that, in a live performance, will go on and on, to it’s ultimate improvisational conclusion. We played another “Che” from this marvelous cd to add more perspective.
